Educating the Workforce of the Future

The future and vibrancy of the Massachusetts technology sector is dependent on a strong commitment to public education and a deliberate nurturing of the entrepreneurial spirit.

The goal of the Council’s workforce initiatives is to foster the development of an adequate supply of skilled workers. The Council's efforts focus on education and training for both teachers and students K – life.

Current efforts to educate the workforce of the future include:

  • Mass Technology Leadership Council Education Foundation – supports multiple initiatives K - 12 (Visit our Education Foundation page for a listing of 2008 Above & Beyond award recipients)
  • Boston University Student Design Program – Higher Education
  • STEMTech Alliance - A Collaboration of Five Massachusetts Technology Trade Associations to Increase STEM Awareness in Middle Schools
  • Commonwealth Information Technology Initiative (CITI) – Higher Education
  • Boston Area Advanced Technological Education Connections (BATEC) - supports multiple initiatives 9 - Life
